Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), one of Latin America’s most influential business conglomerates, was honored with the BRAVO Corporate Legacy Award at the 2025 edition of the BRAVO Business Awards, presented by the Council of the Americas (COA).

This award celebrates the legacy of a family-owned company that, for more than a century, has combined business vision, social commitment, and ethical leadership.

Founded in Guatemala in 1920, CMI has grown from its local roots into a corporation with operations in 16 countries, over 40,000 employees, and activities in key sectors such as food, renewable energy, real estate, and financial services. Its story is a testament to how tradition can coexist with innovation—and how purpose can guide sustainable growth.

During the BRAVO Leadership Conversation, executives Felipe Bosch and Juan José Gutiérrez shared the philosophy that has sustained CMI across generations.
The recognition highlights the company’s longevity, adaptability, and regional impact. From pioneering clean-energy projects to advancing food security and education initiatives, CMI has consistently demonstrated that profitability and responsibility can go hand in hand.

“Our purpose has never been just to grow, but to generate shared prosperity,” said Gutiérrez.

That conviction has been the cornerstone of the company’s business model: creating value for all stakeholders, from employees to communities.

“Legacy isn’t just about longevity,” Bosch added. “It’s about staying true to your purpose while constantly evolving.”

The BRAVO Business Awards, organized by the Council of the Americas, celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2025 as a platform recognizing business leadership across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Under the theme “Driving the Future of Latin America: Innovation, Competitiveness, and Global Integration,” the event brought together more than 500 leaders in Miami, including CEOs, ministers, and visionary entrepreneurs. The BRAVO Awards honor individuals and organizations transforming their industries and elevating the region on the global stage.

In addition to CMI, this year’s honorees included:
    •    Luis Vasconcelos, President of FedEx Latin America and the Caribbean – BRAVO Dynamic Leader of the Year
    •    Francisco Gomes Neto, CEO of Embraer – BRAVO Transformational Leader of the Year
    •    Mercado Libre, recognized for 25 years of innovation in e-commerce and financial inclusion

Each honoree embodies the BRAVO spirit: bold leadership, clear vision, and a deep commitment to regional development.

The COA Symposium & BRAVO Business Awards 2025 also served as a forum for reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing Latin America.

Panels on artificial intelligence, nearshoring, sustainability, and regional competitiveness featured thought leaders such as Blanca Treviño (Softtek), Andrés Velasco (London School of Economics), and Cristina Junqueira (Nubank). Kaio Philipe, Chief Business and Marketing Officer at Inter&Co, described the event as “the Davos of Latin America,” underscoring the region’s growing role as a source of global innovation.

As the ceremony came to a close, the standing ovation for CMI was more than a tribute—it was a celebration of transformative leadership. The BRAVO Corporate Legacy Award honors not only the trajectory of a company but also the promise of a future built on values, vision, and commitment.

In the words of María Lourdes Terrén, COA Vice President:

“Our challenge is not whether we participate, but how we lead.”

And CMI, with its century-old legacy, stands as a shining example of how to lead with purpose in Latin America.
